SATKAPI Shilajit Gold

Raw shilajit, as it's collected from Himalayan rock crevices, isn't ready to use straight away. It carries plant debris, minerals in an unrefined state, and impurities that need to be removed before it can be safely consumed. How that purification happens makes a real difference to the final product.

At SATKAPI, we purify our raw resin using the traditional Ayurvedic Shodhana method — a process that has been used for centuries, long before industrial extraction became the norm.

What Shodhana actually involves

The raw resin is processed using a Triphala decoction — a classical Ayurvedic preparation — and cooked over a low flame rather than high industrial heat. This slow, low-temperature approach is intentional: it allows impurities to separate out gradually while preserving the resin's natural potency.

Why we don't take the fast route

Industrial extraction methods can process raw shilajit far faster, but high heat and aggressive solvents can strip out some of the very compounds — like fulvic acid and trace minerals — that make the resin valuable in the first place. The Shodhana method takes longer, but it's built around preserving bioavailability, not just speed.

What this means for you

The result is a purified, mineral-rich resin that stays closer to its traditional form — tested for purity, but processed the way it's meant to be. You can see the full breakdown of what's in every jar on our Products page.
